Professional Land Surveyor

NMB provides professional services to both public and private sector clients including land surveying, land development, site planning and design, municipal engineering and construction management. Due to our strong relationships with our current client base, Nielsen Madsen + Barber is growing and looking to fill several positions in all departments.

Position: PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR (PLS)

Position Type: Full-Time Employee

The candidate selected for this position will have the opportunity to utilize their surveying and organizational skills to complete a variety of land surveying projects.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor or Associate’s degree in land surveying, five (5) years of experience, be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and have a Wisconsin PLS License.

Responsibilities will include the Following:

  • Provide guidance and direction to field crews and survey technicians.

  • Preparing survey documents such as plat of surveys, subdivision / condominium plats, Certified Survey Maps, legal descriptions, ALTA / ACSM Surveys, easements and construction staking + layout.

  • Drafting, signing and sealing survey maps.

  • Manage the survey aspects of our in-house civil engineering projects.

  • Communicate with design project team members, client representatives and government agencies.

  • Provide QA/QC of designs completed by surveying staff.

  • Assist in project oversight including estimating, scoping and billing.

  • Review horizontal and vertical control.

  • Overseeing GPS Drone surveying and aerial mapping.

  • Experience with GPS and robotic total station operations.

  • Other duties as assigned.
